Our Client, an entity of UAE Government in the Transportation Industry, is currently seeking a certified professional for the post of Financial Controller to be based in Abu Dhabi.
Responsible for all Group management accounts and financial reports. Ensuring timely accurate reporting of all financial statements, meeting all management and regulatory requirements. Key driver in process to develop Group accounting and financial control policies and robust Governance at both Corporate and Project Level.
Chief Financial Officer
•Responsible for building financial accounting and control team and developing/implementing appropriate policies and procedures to ensure robust controls and financial governance throughout the corporate and at project levels. •Provide timely accurate Management Reporting and IFRS Financial Reports, including but not limited to cash flow, profit and loss account, and balance sheet statements, working across functions to ensure a meaningful business report meeting internal and external clients. •Ensure that operating costs are controlled and that any commitment beyond budget is appropriately authorized. •Ensure that project costs are controlled and that any commitment beyond budget is appropriately authorized. •Ensure timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts. •Act as liaison for External Auditors, ensuring all required schedules are available on a timely basis. •Assist the CFO with the organizations budgeting process. •Assist the CFO with any required Financial Due Diligence in regard to Procurement/Joint ventures/Mergers & Acquisitions on all the procurement activities •Provide project leadership on the evaluation, selection and implementation of all financial IT systems to support the achievement of the planned growth within the strategy of the organization.
•The Financial Controller reports to the CFO but is required to interact on a substantial and regular basis with other members of the senior leadership team. •The job holder is expected to drive plans for all aspects of Financial Governance, Accounting Policies and Procedures •The Job holder will exercise financial authority as delegated by the corporate governance framework
•Thorough knowledge of IFRS and IAS •Keen knowledge of principles of fiscal administration including development and maintenance of sound internal fiscal controls & policies, and financial analysis
•Exposure to budget development, monitoring and analysis & controls •Ability to operate internal accounting information systems and computer applications as required, Oracle Financials experience or similar an advantage •Systems evaluation and implementation experience •Strong interpersonal skills
•Qualification as a Chartered Accountant with Big Four Practice or similar depth and breadth •At least three (3) years of general accounting experience, preferably in Blue-chip Multinational, eight years (8) PQE •Experience in Group Accounting •Exposure to large scale infrastructure projects preferred |
