Time management is about making the best use of your most valuable recourse – time. Japanese, world leaders in production, have invested a great deal in identifying techniques aimed at reducing and elimination of waste, particularly with respect to time.
Plan and organize all activities
Planning is the first step when trying to achieve something. Often managers get so involved in their tasks that they forget to plan. This results in wastage of time while carrying out the daily work. Make a step by step plan and organize each task to make most out of the limited time available.
Prioritize all tasks
It is very important to identify the most important and the least important tasks. List down all tasks and highlight the urgent ones so they do not get ignored while doing petty things. Make a daily to-do list and pots it anywhere most visible to you.
Avoid all personal activities at the work place
Personal phone calls, personal meetings, social networking for personal reasons take up a lot of company’s precious time and distract you from your main duties at the work place. If urgent, use the tea breaks and lunch breaks for this purpose.
