Career development and an effort to move up in the management stream needs to be on priority in the highly competitive job market. The main quality for boosting your chances of promotion is your ability to influence and persuade. Here are 10 ways how to get noticed by the top management:

1. Deliver more than expected

Your boss usually has a lot on his shoulders. Share his burden and prove to him that you are capable of handling the extra responsibilities aptly.

3. Work towards adopting the corporate culture
Get tuned up with the corporate culture as soon as you can so that you are viewed as “one of them”.

  2. Johann Smith says:

“Keep a look out for your boss’ concerns and address them” reminds me of a situation in Steven Covey’s enormously famous book “7 Habit” where a boss narrates his problem of water-cooler bitching and the usual scenes, and then one employee chooses to stand apart and starts preempting the boss’s problems and starts to address them.

    Overall, a good post.

  9. MOHAMMED KALEEMULLAH says:

A small story, once a man named Jack saw a dog on a bus-stop (alone) waiting in the queue patiently for its required bus to come, then boarded the bus went to the mall, took grocery, went to the butcher took meat, went to stationery took the required newspaper, took all the bills & invoices and kept all in a bag beneath his neck, waited for the bus and went back home. Jack followed the dog to its home, the dog checked for something infront of the door, then knocked the door when no one opened jumped from the window into the home. After a while the door was opened and supposedly the owner was beating the dog. Jack enquired why on earth you are beating such an intelligent dog. The owner replied, he is the most stupied and lousy dog he ever saw since this is the third time the dog has forgotten the key in the home and disturbing me by knocking the door and jumping from the window.
Moral of the story : BOSS IS NEVER HAPPY.
